The Empire State will soon witness the arrival of Clair Danes and Ewan McGregor, who will be working together on the project. The reason for this is the selection of New York as the production site for ‘The Spot,’ an upcoming thriller series of Hulu with the two stars. Principal photography will be conducted from January 12 to May 21, 2026. Ed Solomon is the mastermind, scribe, and overall head of the show. Ariel Kleiman is the chosen one to direct it.
The story centers on a well-regarded surgeon (Danes) and her teacher husband (McGregor), who come to believe that she may bear some measure of responsibility for the hit-and-run death of a child. As they seek desperately to determine whether there is any truth behind their awe, this search speedily plunges into a labyrinth of dark secrets and suspicion. Their relationship is put to the test when they are suddenly faced with betrayal and guilt.
Claire Danes is best known for playing the following roles: Carrie Mathison in ‘Homeland,’ Angela Chase in ‘My So-Called Life,’ Kate Brewster in ‘Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines,’ and Kelly Riker in ‘The Rainmaker.’ Her last feature film role was as Alex Wheeler in Silas Howard’s ‘A Kid Like Jake,’ with Jim Parsons being the co-star. We will see her next in the Netflix miniseries ‘The Beast in Me.’ In the show, she will be playing Aggie Wiggs, a bestselling author who, while dealing with the death of her young son, finds a fascinating subject for her new book in a new neighbor who was a former suspect in his wife’s disappearance.
Ewan McGregor Ewan Mcgregor’s last roles include David in ‘Mother Couch,’ daddy in ‘Bleeding Love,’ and Raymond from the upcoming film Raymond & Ray. He also provided the voice of Cricket in ‘Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio’. On the TV show front, we knew him as Obi-Wan Kenobi in Disney+’s ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi,’ Alexander Rostov in Paramount+’s ‘A Gentleman in Moscow,’ and Halston on Netflix’s ‘Halston.’ We will next see him opposite Anne Hathaway in David Robert Mitchell’s sci-fi film ‘Flowervale Street.’
There are several other projects that will be filmed in New York, such as the Netflix series ‘God Mode,’ with Rosamund Pike as the lead, the Peacock crime drama series ‘Superfakes,’ with Lucy Liu playing a key role, and ‘Loser,’ a film featuring Angourie Rice and Finn Bennett.
